You are responsible for learning everything you can about online safety! Click on the web links and watch the videos to learn about keeping safe online. Make sure you have your Task Sheet handy and answer the questions as you go along.

Day 1:

First Video: The little boy on the video sat down at his father’s computer, to play a video game. He gets a pop up for win a free bear. Not knowing he, clicked on the first pop up. The pop up started displaying many pop ups. The little boy leaves the room to ask his father for help.
What should you do if you see a pop up ad on the computer screen while you are online?
Is the pop up ad on the video game a trustworthy link to click on to win a prize?
What do you do if you see something online that worries you or makes you uncomfortable?

Day 2:

Second Video: We meet Annie and Robot Moby share what is computer virus, private information, strangers, and internet safety.

Day 5

Students will present their poster presentation to the class and discusses the results they researched regarding their task card.

Students will watch four videos on internet safety one video per day. The students will work in small teams of four to research conflicts the children face on the videos they are provided to watch on the internet. They will have a task sheet with questions, and word play to answer for each of the videos

Teacher will provide one task card on an internet issue to each team. Each group will use what they have learned to develop an action plan to help students become aware of the problems and solutions when going places on the internet safely. Team members will participate in discussions, define terms, and create a poster illustrating the solution based on the task card provided. Each student concludes the mission by completing a task sheet and in now part of the Internet Safety Agents group.

You will get in groups of four and choose among the following key jobs:
1. Coordinator: would organize the group
2. Writer: would take notes on the group discussions
3. Speakers: would present the poster and information to the class
4. Artists: would discuss with group what action plan is going to be on the poster.

After you organize your group, you can watch the following videos. Each day you will have an opportunity to get into your groups and discuss what you learned from the video. Make sure you answer the questions from your task sheet before getting into groups each day. On day 5 each group will get a chance to show their poster presentation to the class. Each group will have up to five minutes to discuss the problems and solutions from your task card.
